Magnetic Fields Fest from Dec 14

As we get closer and closer to the end of the year, I have been spoilt for choice (no, I am not talking about the number of fu**bois who have been wh**ing around; I am talking about the number of events that are taking place over the weekend in Rajasthan). Because let’s face it, if there are six gigs happening at the same time in the same state, it might just break your balls (not literally though) thinking of which one to attend, and when! While the thought of missing even one of the events scares the sh*t outta me, I also think of getting my Ambani (the one who showers notes to get anybody to perform on my pre-wedding festivities). Day-dreaming and jokes apart, here are the events that are happening in the desert state over the weekend:

1.      Sunburn Arena with Nucleya

Nucleya album launch Dec 16

The Indian electronic music producer, who’s built a unique lexicon of bass music in our country (even gained fame with his album Bass Rani), Nucleya  will be in the Pink City for the launch of Tota Myna at JECC, Sitapura on December 16. DJ Ray and DJ Dual Vibes will also perform at the event. Nucleya has always loved the audience of Jaipur for its energy and I’m pretty sure that it’s going to be the same this time as well.

2.      The Grub Fest –

Bohemia at Grub Fest on Dec 16

Making its way to Jaipur for the first time, the Grub Fest has already gained much attention as we will have the famous rapper Bohemia perform at the event. The day will also witness sets by the likes of YouTube sensation Lisa Mishra and Indian singer-songwriter Sukh-E. With perfect drinks and a scrumptious menu to complement the music, the Grub Fest is scheduled for December 15-16 at Hotel Diggi Palace, Jaipur.

3.      Jairangam –

Jairangam

Back with its seventh edition, Jairangam theatre festival is more vibrant and content-rich this year. The popular theatre festival will have 21 plays, in which 9 plays are of national level and 13 plays will feature directors from Rajasthan. With artistes such as Makarand Deshpande, Anup Soni, Saurabh Shukla and Sadiya Siddiqui, Jairangam will be organised at Maharana Pratap Auditorium and Jawahar Kala Kendra in Jaipur from December 15-22.

4.      Magnetic Fields –

Magnetic Fields Fest from Dec 14

The three-day contemporary music and arts festival, Magnetic Fields is set to be organised in Alsisar, a town in Jhunjhunu district from December 14-16. “As we go into our sixth year, Magnetic Fields Festival pays homage to the community that has surprised and excited a new generation of music lovers, movers and dancers in India! This year we again bring you new experiences and new spaces to explore but most importantly,” (sic) was tweeted on the official Twitter handle of Magnetic Field Fest.

5.      Momasar Festival  –

Momasar Festival from Dec 16

Once again this year, the sleepy town of Momasar in Bikaner district will come alive with this crowd-sourced cultural and arts festival organised by local residents of the area. Celebrating Rajasthan’s living roots music, the fest will be held over two days on December 15 and 16 and brings together creative the communities of the state.
