Bezos gets divorce, his ex Amazonian rich

He is the richest man in the world. His ex is now the third richest woman in the world. Novelist and philanthropist MacKenzie Bezos turned an overnight billionaire after her divorce plea with Amazon founder and husband Jeff Bezos was approved by a Seattle judge, said a Bloomberg report. The two had decided to part ways after 25 years of marriage and made their decision public in a joint twitter statement early this year. The divorce settlement will see MacKenzie receive a whopping 38.3 billion dollars in Amazon stock. In the club of richie rich women she comes next only to French billionaire heiress Françoise Bettencourt Meyers who is now the sole owner of L’Oréal the multinational brand specializing in personal care, and Alice Louise Walton who is an heiress to the retail giant Walmart. 

Bezos still remains the richest man in the world according to Forbes. According to Bloomberg he carries home a 12 per cent stake worth 114 billion dollars and also gets to keep the voting control of his ex-wife’s shares.
