Pop star Sia reveals rare neurological condition
1 min readInternational singer Sia recently posted a tweet revealing she suffers from ‘chronic pain’ and also offered support to others. The Cheap Thrills singer shared that she has Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS), a disease that weakens connective tissues of the body.
“Hey, I’m suffering with chronic pain, a neurological disease, ehlers danlos and I just wanted to say to those of you suffering from pain, whether physical or emotional, I love you, keep going,” the 43-year-old Australian pop star tweeted.
“Life is f***ing hard. Pain is demoralising, and you’re not alone,” she added
EDS or elastic skin, which affects around 1 in 2,500-5,000 people, can make joints loose and cause one’s skin to be easily bruised. The condition can be genetic and causes when the body is unable to make ample amount of the protein called collagen.
