As a medical scientist one encounters unexpected limitations in managing some ailments despite impressive strides taken by medical sciences. These advances we depend on for saving lives and bettering people’s lives are an outcome of evidence-based linear sciences. However, an increasing number of medical professionals, in an attempt to offer relief, are resorting to a holistic approach that encompasses wisdom from different streams of knowledge.

Corona outbreak turned out to be one catastrophic pandemic where the advanced sciences have been groping in the blind to find a solution. In the absence of an antidote and understanding of the virus, humans went into lockdown, retreating from active life, and voluntarily opting for house arrest.

It is during such extraordinary event in our lives, I took to predicting the outcome on corona and how it will play out by applying the tenets of astrology, a non-linear science, of which I have been a student and a practitioner other than my fulfilling professional engagement of a neuroscientist. I took a chance and the challenge to explore this age-old science, the mirror of human life in universe, in my quest for an answer to the pandemic.

My study of stars – By mid-April, man would no longer be in hiding, here’s why – published on Writer’s Ball outlined the inability of a constricted Jupiter (the planet of well being and wisdom) in the grip of a blind Ketu (Southern node of Moon) to provide mankind a breather from the global pandemic. I not only pointed out that Jupiter would be moving out of Ketu’s influence by March-end giving the humankind some succor and followed up with a write up Hope Rises With Sun in Aries: Turning Point in war against Corona virus by April-end where I ventured to predict a possible breakthrough in our fight against the deadly virus.

I had suggested the entry of Sun in Aries on late evening of April 13 from its previous placing in Pisces, would be a turning point in gaining an upper hand on Corona. Here are some happenings from the world around us, including in India.

  • Today the health ministry data suggests the doubling time of corona cases has almost tripled to nearly 10 days from the earlier conversion rate of three days, taking us closer towards flattening of the curve. A positive sign indeed!
  • My further reading of the stars had pointed to Rahu (the North node of moon) becoming favourable and Mercury’s stepping in Aries as signs that will lead to strengthening of the Sun (The life giver) on April 23. This was without doubt a precursor to good news and indicated a pharmacological success, paving way for a drug that fight the disease or the discovery of a vaccine. Interestingly, the Oxford clinical trials on 4,000 volunteers have started on April 23 the date of planetary realignment.
  • Another interesting discovery happened yesterday April 24. The American department of science is studying the effect of ultra violet rays, which have shown promise in effectively checking the growth of Covid-19 virus. If proven to the satisfaction of scientific measures, this finding will help the world, India in particular, with summer approaching faster with the entry of sun in Aries. This augurs well with the astrological transition of the sun from Jal tatva (water element) of Pisces to that of Agni tatva (fire sign) of Aries.

While there is a long way to go in our fight against the Corona virus, there is a silver lining and a sense of optimism adding to our confidence to win the war. While Ketu, also referred to as the headless star, which represents the virus, will continue to bully us till it shifts position in September, but favourable and all-giving Jupiter will significantly dampen Ketu’s impact in aggravating the misery. The dissociation of Saturn from Mars on May 5 will add to our armamentarium to effectively control the dreaded virus.
